Saving on your heating costs

How to save on heating in Switzerland? Discover our concrete tips to reduce your heating costs and your energy bill this winter.

Saving on your heating costs

In winter, heating represents a significant share of a home's costs. Poor insulation, badly maintained radiators or insufficient ventilation can lead to excessive energy consumption and considerably increase your bill. Fortunately, a few simple steps make it possible to optimize your heating and achieve savings without sacrificing your comfort.

Tips for efficient heating:

Bleed your radiators: A radiator that contains air heats less well. Remember to bleed it regularly to ensure an even distribution of heat.

Avoid obstructing heat sources: Do not place furniture or thick curtains in front of your radiators, as this limits their efficiency and increases energy consumption.

Improve insulation: Installing insulating seals on your windows and hanging thermal curtains can significantly reduce heat loss.

Regulate the temperature intelligently: Every degree counts. Reducing the temperature by 1°C can lower your bill by 6 to 10%. The ideal temperature is 19-20°C in living areas and 16-18°C in bedrooms.

Ventilate strategically: Opening the windows wide for 5 to 10 minutes each day allows you to refresh the air without cooling the walls and to avoid humidity, which makes heating less efficient.

Install a programmable thermostat: A smart investment that adapts the temperature to your needs and avoids heating unnecessarily when you are away.
